In order to get a class 6 driver license, a client has to successfully complete a written examination and a practical examination. The cost of the exam is $32.10, assuming the individual passes their written test on the first attempt. (You get two tests for the $32.10) In order to make an appointment for class 6 testing, the person would attend the Driver & Vehicle Licensing Office located on the Main Floor of the Laing Building. They would book and pay for an appointment and then attend their appointment at the North Slave Regional Office at the Highways Building, 4510 Franklin Avenue. Testing is done Monday through Friday. Currently, the regular class 5 manual is what a person should use as a study guide. It can be downloaded or purchased at the Driver & Vehicle Licensing Office for $6.42 A person learning to operate a motorcycle, (No Class 6 yet) may ride unaccompanied if the instructor riding with him/her has a minimum of two years experience operating a motorcycle, follows the person in another vehicle or motorcycle and keeps the person in view at all times. A person learning to operate a motorcycle, shall not operate a motorcycle after sunset or in a speed zone of 70 km/h or greater.
