Road information
Visit the Department of Transportation's website for Road Info, Ferry Info, Tourism, etc. It is highly recommended that you visit this site before planning your trip. Here's a link to the Explorer's Map, you'll want to note the rest stops and distances between gas stations (316km from Fort Providence to Yellowknife). The Mackenzie River Bridge is open so the ferry is no longer an issue there, but be careful on the cattle gates and watch for bison!
